Rev. Mark Elliott, Celebrant
Celebrant at the Saint James Greek Orthodox Mission on most Saturdays is Father Mark Elliott, a graduate of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, and a priest for more than 25 years. Prior to his arrival in the Metropolis of Pittsburgh in 2004, Father Mark served in the Metropolises of Chicago and Atlanta. Since then, he has been the full-time pastor of Saint George in Huntington, WV. His association with Saint James, however, goes back some 9 years when he first began to serve as an occasional substitute for the late Father Leonidas Drakopoulos, the Mission’s founder. Over the years, his “fill-in” visits to the community, and their duration, increased. Eventually, in early 2013, he was given pastoral responsibility for the Mission.
In addition, Father Mark is secretary for the Metropolis Spiritual Court (Southwest Region), participates annually in the Metropolis camp program (Camp Nazareth), and occasionally writes for the Department of Religious Education.
Father Mark is a married to Presbytera Patti Page-Elliott. They have two sons, Matthew and Andrew.
